UPDATE

Dear ALLBB parents, players and baseball friends,

baseball legend Yogi Berra once said, “The future ain’t what it used to be.“

As we have grown to learn, sometimes in baseball the best plans are thrown out the door after the first pitch, sometimes before. In these unusual current circumstances we can say with certainty the plans changed radically before opening day.

As we have been informed by Berlin and German officials the continuance of the current public restrictions will be in place until at least April 19th, the end of the Easter vacation. Unfortunately, there is no way to know if these restrictions will stay in effect or if they will be lifted at that time. While we would like to be out at the ball field, we recognize it is our duty to do what is best for everyone and will continue do follow the guidelines set in place by state and city officials.

The board of the ALLBB have discussed the impacts for our season and come to some conclusions:

    1. We have decided that under these circumstances the 2020 ALLBB season cannot start on April 25th, so the Opening Day on April 25th is without a doubt canceled.
    2. We are hoping that during the next weeks the restrictions will be lifted and sport activities for children will be allowed. If and when this this happens, we want to offer and organize a shortend ALLBB season for 2020.We cannot say with certainty how this will look or when it will start, but we are actively looking into the best solutions for our ALLBB community.
    3. We ask for your continued support and your help! We already know this this year will be a financial challenge for the ALLBB. So, we ask that you please do not to draw back your registrations. We need your help and your registration fees will help the ALLBB to survive this unusual situation.

In closing, let me send you my thanks for your help and your support during these challenging times.

We will continue to inform you as new information becomes available. Please also keep an eye on our website, www.allbb.de for updates.

Sincerely,

Florian Schlehofer
