Little League game schedule weeks 7,8 & 9

We have another 4 scheduled weeks with the next three repeating the schedule we have had for the season so far. Here is what it looks like:

Week 7

Field A – Brewers vs. Braves
Field B – Blue Jays vs. A’s
Week 8

Field A – Braves vs. Blue Jays
Field B – Brewers vs. A’s
Week 9

Field A – Blue Jays vs. Brewers
Field B – Braves vs. A’s

Home team will be determined by the W-L record at the time of play, the team with the worse overall season record will be given “home team advantage”.

Week 10 is still to be determined but will most likely be based on the the overall W-L records of the 4 Little League teams.

Week 11 is in the calendar as back-up day for a rain outs, we’ve been lucky so far but you never know what the weather has in store for us. If there are no rain outs it will be determined on how to best use this day.

More info on weeks 10 & 11 will be coming soon.

Lastly, please keep in mind that each Little League team is required to have a helper in the Snack Shack from 13:00 – 15:00, games can be delayed if a helper is not there.

Trying out the old sandlot for 2016

The best way to start off a season is to get to know each other, and that’s what we did on Saturday the 9th of April, 2016 our beloved ALLBB did just that. The kids came out enforce to meet their baseball buddies, get back into the swing of things and show the coaches what they’ve got.

But now we look ahead and before you know it we’ll be meeting up for practices and then of course games. There’s a lot to do in a short time, but it’s for the love of our game, so let’s get out there and get it done. There’s the player draft, team practices, an umpires clinic (Thursday the 14th of April, 16-19:30) and I bet you Tom will be out there fixing up the field in every moment between. We’ll kick off our 2016 season next Saturday, come on out end enjoy the uphoria of baseball with us!

Clean-up, Evaluations and Umpire Clinic 2016

Spring field clean-up for our 2016 season was a great success, we re-built a vandalized dug out, restored a picnic bench, cleaned the fields up of weeds and debris, repaired fences all around the field and cleaned up the batting cages and even built a bullpen behind field-B! Great work, thanks for showing up and helping out!

But we’re just getting started, and we still need your help. We’re looking for volunteers to help umpire games, we could really use some coaches to lead a team and we still have ideas on how to improve our ballpark. Contact us, every effort makes a difference.

Leading up to our 2016 season we’ll be holding a Player Evaluation on Saturday, April 9th at 10:00. It’s a great way to get out and hang out with your baseball buddies while getting in a workout and showing the coaches what you’ve got. Parents, do you have some time to spare, we could use your help too.

The following day the coaches will meet up and draft their teams. News and practice times will follow shortly after.

And what would baseball be without umpires, meet up with Jakie Poklington on Thursday, April 14th at 16:00 – 19:30 for the Umpire Training Clinic. Jackie has you covered with your umpire needs, you can contact him at: allbb-uc@berlin.com

It’s that time of the year – baseballs, dirt and cracks of the bats – let’s enjoy it together!
